Make a Gift that Grows

Your gift does much more than help hardworking families escape from unsafe and unhealthy living conditions. You’re helping families break the cycle of poverty and build long-term financial security. Habitat’s affordable mortgages free up money for food, child care, medicine, and other necessities for families. Research has shown decent housing and homeownership improves health, increases children’s educational achievement and strengthens community ties.

We can't do it without you.

Why Give to Austin Habitat?

By building and repairing homes in partnership with low-income families, Austin habitat has been building a better Austin since 1985

Safe and stable homes are the foundation of successful families and communities

The affordable housing crisis in our community causes many families to live in overcrowded, deteriorating, expensive apartments in crime ridden neighborhoods

Rodriguez Family

Austin Habitat for Humanity's programs are truly a hand up, not a hand out.  We are able to build these homes at a low cost with the help of people like you, who take the time and have the heart to give. Together, we build homes, communtities, and hope.

Stories of Hope

At Austin Habitat for Humanity, we believe everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live. We work with the community and build homes with hardworking, low-income families and then sell the homes at no profit with affordable mortgages to the Habitat families, whom we have prepared to be successful homeowners. Families in need must meet certain income and credit qualifications, attend homebuyer education classes and contribute 300 sweat equity hours. It is hard work. But, it sure does pay off! Our familes give us and our community hope. Together, we build a better Austin. Read more.
