Getting Started
All of our new volunteers are required to complete our online volunteer orientation. You can begin by following the New Registrations link to the left. The orientation takes about 15 minutes to complete, and at the end there is a Release of Liability that must be printed out and signed. Please bring the release form with you to site the first time you volunteer. This Release of Liability will have to be resubmitted every year.

Schedule
We work at the construction jobsite Wednesday and Friday and at the deconstruction jobsite Monday through Friday during the week from 8am - 3pm. It is usually a very relaxed atmosphere, as it is only a handful of individual volunteers each day. Occasionally they are joined by a group.

Saturday is our big volunteer day with often more than 150 volunteers on sites. We work on construction, deconstruction, and home repair from 8am - 4pm. Individuals are welcome to join any of these projects.

Choosing Projects
Once you complete the online orientation you will be able to access the volunteer projects calendar. The calendar is updated every Tuesday afternoon with jobsites for the week. When you click on a site you will see the address, directions, and tasks that are planned for each day. If you find a project that interests you, you do not need to sign up. You can just show up at the jobsite, but you must be on time.

Community Service
Court ordered community service volunteers cannot fulfill their hours on a jobsite. Voluntees must work in our Habitat ReStore. Bring your court paperwork and a photo ID to the cashier's window during working hours and you will be given an assignment. The store is located at 310 Comal Street and is open from 9am - 6pm Monday through Friday and 8am - 5pm on Saturday.
