Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Austin Habitat for Humanity!

Individual volunteers from the Austin community play an essential role. These volunteers have made many of Austin Habitat's goals and achievements possible through their involvement with committees, assistance in the Habitat office, and labor on and off construction sites.
 
Currently, we have several Non-Construction opportunities available for individual volunteers.  

If you would like to volunteer in Construction or Home Repair; but have no experience, know that you are not alone. The vast majority of our volunteers are unskilled.  We have  a supervisor on each site who will give you instructions and help you get started.

For 2012, Austin Habitat for Humanity will build 12 houses in 20 weeks beginning January 17th and ending in May.

The build schedule will be different, in that the majority of our volunteer building opportunities will take place on weekdays.

We will have new homes under construction Tues-Friday.

To volunteer in Construction, Home Repair, or the ReStore; follow the instructions below:

Complete an Online Orientation
All of our new volunteers are required to complete our Online Volunteer Registration. Also, be sure to print, fill out, and sign the Release of Liability that must be printed out and signed. Please bring the release form with you to site the first time you volunteer. This Release of Liability must be resubmitted every year.

We require ALL Volunteers to complete the HFHI approved Lockton On-Line Safety course titled "Volunteering on a Habitat Job Site".

View the Schedule and Choose A Project
Once you complete the Online Registration you will be able to access the Volunteer Projects Calendar. The Calendar is updated every Tuesday afternoon with jobsites for the week. When you click on a site, you will see the address, directions, and tasks that are planned for each day. If you find a project that interests you, you do not need to sign up. You can just show up at the jobsite, but you must be on time.

We work at the Construction job site Tuesday thru Saturday from 8am - 4pm.
