The new CALDWELL COUNTY CHAPTER was officially welcomed by the Austin Habitat for Humanity Affiliate on July 21, 2009 and has been very active.
• The Steering Committee usually meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at the First Christian Church on West San Antonio St in Lockhart at 7 p.m. (The next meeting will be Thursday, February 25.) Interested visitors are always welcome.
• A Lockhart lot is available for the Chapter’s first Habitat house.
• The new Chapter has been publicized to the community and Caldwell County churches.
• Plans are underway for an Apostles’ Build with Caldwell County churches providing funding and construction volunteers.
• Candidates for Habitat’s A Brush with Kindness home repairs program are being identified.
• Our FEBRUARY 6th MARDI GRAS FUNDRAISER at Cedar Hall was a success. The auctions and ticket sales raised almost $11,000. We are very grateful for the use of Cedar Hall and for the music donated by The Fossils. We thank the community for the many donated items and for the efforts of all who made the event a success.
