The CALDWELL COUNTY CHAPTER  Steering Committee usually meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at the First Christian Church on West San Antonio St in Lockhart at 7 p.m. (The next meeting will be Thursday, August 26.) On September 23 the Steering Committee will hold their meeting at the First United Methodist Church in Luling. Interested visitors are always welcome.

ACTIVITIES

The yellow Garden Shed has made the rounds in both Lockhart and Luling. The shed has returned to Lockhart for the next month and will be located at Sage Bank through the end of July and then travel the short distance to Livengood’s located at 1220 S. Colorado. The drawing will be held on September 11, 2010 during the Dies Y Seis Celebration at the Caldwell County Courthouse Square. Raffle tickets are on sale throughout the county for $10 each (or 11 for $100). Supporting Lockhart businesses where tickets can be purchased include: Sage Bank, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, First Lockhart National Bank, Glosserman’s Auto, and Kaigler's Clothing Store. Luling supporting businesses include: Gary and Linda Collins, Dismuke's Pharmacy, Melinda's Beauty Shop, Coffee Shop, and Silver Willow Boutique.

Saturday’s are “A Brush with Kindness” work days  which began on July 10 and are expected to run through mid-August. Anyone interested in working on the exterior improvements at the South Trinity Street home should contact Pat Horne at (512) 559-1135.
